"Our Mr. Jarvis was, at the time of his marriage to Diana Irving, a Barrister-at-Law practising in Guelph, a rising town (now known as "The Royal City"), with great ambitions of being the centre of life in a promising agricultural district; his early death--in his thirty-eighth year--took place at his mother's residence, 89 Wellington St., Toronto, on 13th January, 1860. After Mr. Jarvis' demise his widow and the children lived at Bonshaw (Canada), until their change of quarters to No. 139 James Street South, Hamilton, just across Hannah Street from her brother AEmilius' house, the move taking place in the autumn of 1870."
