About Domingo Martín Serrano

Domingo Martín Serran was married to Josefa de Herrera. A witness in 1694, he declared he was born in Santa Fé, giving his age as forty-seven in that year, and a eighty in 1726. He died at the age of ninety on February, 27 1735.

His known children are Diego, who married Pascuala de Soto at Santa Cruz in 1694; María, wife of Juan Luján; Blas, who married Rosa de Vargas Machuca in 1705; and Matías, hasband of Josefa Luján Domínguez.

He escaped the Pueblo Revolt of 1680, and returned to New Mexico with his family in 1693 as part of the Diego de Vargas group of settlers.

He states that, as his majesty's loyal vassal, he will go to settle with his family, if there is provisioning for it.
