About Donald Daniel McCrimmon

Donald Daniel came to North Carolina in 1772 to scout for land. His brother, Donald Ruadh, came in 1773 and bought the land in Anson Co. N.C..Both Donald Ruadh and Donald Daniel joined the Kings forces during the Revolution.

Lt. Donald Ruadh was given land in Nova Scotia, but he only stayed there for 10 yrs. and then returned to Scotland.

Donald Daniel was given land in Prince Edward Co.. He raised his family there and then moved to Lot 3, Conc. 3 in Binbrook, near Hamilton, Ont. )

Of Marysburgh, Binbrook 1831

Donald disappeared on 25 NOV 1831 after he left home to do some local, hunting. He was 86 years old at the time, and his family and, neighbours searched frantically for him for the next several days. His disappearance was an unsolved mystery for three and a half years. Then on 27 May 1835, a violent storm destroyed a nearby hollow tree, and in it were the remains of Donald Mccrimmon, along with his gun, powder horn and personal effects.
