Dr. Benjamin Loring, twin brother to Joshua Loring, Jr., was born in 1740 , graduated at Harvard College in 1772. During the American Revoluntion, he was a surgeon in a regiment in the King's service in South Carolina. At the peace, accompanied by his family of five persons, and one servant, he went from New York to Shelburne, Nova Scotia. He returned to Boston and died there in 1798.
