Ebenezer Wood, son of John Wood and Lydia Davis, was born in Littleton, Mass. on Jan. 20, 1754. He married with PHEBE BROOKS on Apr. 17, 1776 and settled in Washington, Sullivan Co., New Hampshire in 1780 or 1781. He resided in the mountain district, on the farm now owned by Anson S. Powers, and was the original settled of that place. Previous to his settlement in Washington he was 'a soldier in the Revolution, with the rank of lieutenant.' He was a cooper by trade, and worked at that business after coming to Washington. He died Dec. 28, 1840. His wife died Jan. 2, 1844.
