Esialgu peatus ta tuttava maalija Ossip Ljubitschi juures, siis pakkus talle eestlane Eduard Klimberg ajutiselt oma korterit Campagne-Première’i tänaval Montparnasse’il.

He was an amateur racer in Estonia. In 14.07.1929 he participated in German GP on Nürburgring with his 36HP Renault, but did not finish the race. Soon after that he moved to Paris, where he owned garages and traded cars and car parts. He was a member of the technical committee of the Monte Carlo Rally.
