Saint Paul Globe report of his death, 4 Dec 1900:
HIS INJURY WAS FATAL
Boberg was first seen by the engineer of the Duluth train which arrives in the city at 7:15. He was placed on the train and brought to the union depot. The police patrol was summoned, and the dying man was taken to the hospital where Dr. Ancker found that both legs were almost completely severed above the knees and concluded that amputation was useless.
Mrs. Boberg was notified and was at her husband's side until the end. Mr. Boberg was forty-five years old, and lived with his family near Maryland avenue, on the White Bear road. There are four children.
