Gradually the other members of the Horrocks family came to Zion. In 1856, the father, Edward Horrocks, arrived, followed by his daughters, Elizabeth Kingsford, Martha Harrop, Mary Leavitt, Alice Wood and Ann Garner. Father of 14 children - Alice, Ann, Edward, Edward, Eliza, Eliza Ann, Elizabeth, Janice, John, Joseph, Martha, Mary, Samuel and Sarah Horrocks. Beloved stepfather of Mary Worthington.
He worked in the manufacturing business in England. He was a Silk Weaver. He also was a local teacher. He joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in 1840. He was widowed in 1856. He came to Utah with 3 daughters (Alice, Ann and Martha) in March 1857 on the ship "George Washington" and married Eliza Ann Clark at sea. Eliza's daughter Mary Worthington travelled with them. Edward's daughters Elizabeth and Mary had travelled to Utah in 1856.
He travelled the Mormon trail from March to September 1957. He first settled in Ogden, then Huntsville for the remainder of his life.
At age 59 he met his death in a snowslide in Ogden Canyon while going for supplies for his family.
