About Eduni of Treloen
Eduni of Treloen lived in the time of Edward the Confessor [ruled 1042-1066] and was the lord of Alternonn. From him descend the Trelawny line. Many later records show his name as Edwin. He was succeeded as lord by Hamelin, presumed to be his son, who was in possession of the manor after the Norman Conquest.
There have been many spellings for Trelawny, starting with Treloen, as recorded in the Domesday Book, and progressing to Trelone, Trilone, de Trelawn, Trilawnee, Trelawny and the variant Trelawney.
