About Eliza Jane Sone (Stowers)
Birth Cert: Faversham(Dec Qtr, 1839, 5, 172)
There is some indication from Peter Brown (decendant of William b 1808) that Eliza Jane could/may be the daughter of Elizabeth Stowers c 1821 with an unknown Father. Elizabeth went onto marry a Jacob Smith in 1842. This explation would make sense as apart from William b 1808 no other sibling would be old enough to sire a child born in 1839.
Eliza Jane's Birth Certificate clearly indicates that Elizabeth is her Mother, the Father is Unknown. It is possible that she regarded her Grandfather as her Father, as on her Marriage Certificate to Thomas Sone in 1862 she names William Stowers as her Father.
The 1851 Census the Enumerator entered Eliza Jane as grand daughter to the Head of the family. This was also a code used at the time to indicate an Illegitimate child to one of the children, in this case the Enumerator was correct in his assumptions.
The 1901 census indicates that Eliza was born in Graveny, Kent
