About Elizabeth Foster (Dane)

Elizabeth (Dane) Foster was a niece of Rev. Francis Dane, forty-eight years minister at Andover, Mass., who boldly denouncing the witchcraft delusion of 1692, was prominently connected with the trials at Salem when almost every member of his family was under arrest on suspicion, and a daughter and granddaughter were tried and condemned to death. See Bailey's Historical Sketches of Andover, Boston, 1880, pp. 199 and 423.
