The second son of the settler couple, Frederick Thomas, was married in the Anglican Church, Grahamstown, to Elizabeth Sharp. The young couple first lived in town, but in 1843 were farming near Seven Fountains in the Albany District. Three years later, they moved to Port Elizabeth where Frederick bought a wagon-making business from a Mr. Powell, but in 1849 it is recorded that they were farming on the Sundays River. Elizabeth died on 23.01.1885 on the farm Hope Field in the district of Riversdale. |
