Emily Dow Partridge Smith Young (1824-1899) was born in Painsville, Ohio the daughter of Edward Partridge Sr. and Lydia Clisbee.

She married Mormon prophet Joseph Smith Jr. on 11 May 1843. A few months after the death of Joseph Smith she then married Brigham Young in his seventh marriage.

Brigham Young and Emily had 7 children:

1) Edward Partridge Young (30 Oct 1845 - 26 Nov 1852)

2) Emily Augusta Young (1 Mar 1849 - 19 Mar 1926)

3) Caroline Partridge Young (1 Feb 1851 - 2 Jul 1903)

4) Joseph Don Carlos Young (6 May 1855 - 19 Oct 1938)

5) Miriam Young (13 Oct 1857 - 16 Oct 1919)

6) Josephine Young (21 Feb 1860 - 9 May 1912)

7) Lura Young (2 Apr 1862 - 4 Nov 1862)
