About Ernst Cahn

Erst Cahn was tortured and shot at Gestapo Headquarters in Amsterdam.

He refused to reveal who had fixed the offensive ammonia bottle in his tavern that killed numbers of Germans. He was shot by a German firing squad on 3 March 1941, the first person to be shot in such a way in Holland, since the German occupation ten months earlier.
