About Ethel Stuckey (Mullis)

Ethel Mullis Stuckey took excess pecans from her husband's roadside pecan stand and made homemade pecan candies, including the famous Stuckey's Pecan Log Roll and Stuckey's Pecan Divinity. Tourists began buying these pecans and candies on their way to, and from, Florida. Eventually, her husband, W. S. Stuckey, opened his first official roadside gift shop/candy shop/gas station building in Eastman, Georgia with a candy kitchen. As the popularity grew, and interstate travel and tourism increased after World War II, a candy plant was built behind the main store.
