Evelyn Catherine Fiedler, 94 year old resident of Little Falls, MN passed away Thursday, September 16, 2010 at Diamond Willow Assisted Living in Little Falls. A Mass of Christian Burial for Evelyn Fiedler will be held Monday at 11:30 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Little Falls with Rev. Nicholas Landsberger and Rev. Kenneth Popp officiating. Burial will be in Annunciation Catholic Cemetery in Mayhew Lake, MN. Friends may call Sunday from 4-7 PM and Monday from 10 AM until the service at the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls. The Christian Mothers will pray a rosary Sunday at 4 PM followed by parish prayers at 5:30 PM at the Shelley Funeral Chapel. Arrangements are with the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls.

Evelyn was born November 19, 1915 to Peter and Mary (Mathieu) Schreifels on a farm three miles south of Cold Spring, MN. Later the family moved into the town of Cold Spring where she attended school until the 10th grade. A farm near Mayhew Lake was the next move for the family.

Evelyn was united in marriage to Henry Leopold Fiedler on November 3, 1938, a rainy day in Mayhew Lake. The young couple farmed near Rice, MN. In 1946 they settled on a farmstead north of Pierz, where they lived for 12 years. They moved their family to Little Falls, MN in 1958 when Henry became a partner in the John Deere Implement dealership. In 1961, they started Fiedler Cesspool Pumping. Evelyn provided the office and bookkeeping support for the business during the 18 years of ownership. They retired to Rice, MN and lived there for 15 years before moving back to Little Falls.

Evelyn was the gentle loving matriarch of the Fiedler family. She was a talented, prolific quilter and needle worker,who also enjoyed reading, traveling, genealogy, playing "500," and especially spending time with family and friends. Evelyn was a member of the Christian Mothers and had a unfailing faith in her Church.

Evelyn is survived by her children, Dorothy (Gerald) Johnson of Superior, WI; Shirley Moen of Bloomington, MN; Donald (Jacklyn) Fiedler of Pierz, MN; David (Carol) Fiedler of Buffalo, MN; Mary (Carl) Peters of St. Louis Park, MN; Gerald (Dorothy Bachan) Fiedler of Little Falls, MN; Phyllis (Jerold) Feia of Little Falls, MN and Wanda Moen of Bloomington, MN; grandchildren, Michael Johnson, David Johnson; Robert Moen; Scott Fiedler, Lucas Fiedler, Jessica Fiedler; Sister Redempta Fiedler, Jenny (Fiedler) Davenport, Molly (Fiedler) Lamb; Kimberly Lichy; Anthony Feia, Holly (Feia) Beers, Kendall Feia, Kelly (Feia) Bjerkaas; Gina Moen; great-grandchildren, Bradley Johnson, Zachary Johnson; Brian Johnson, Victoria Johnson; Rachel Moen, Ryan Moen; Benjamin Fiedler, Sara Fiedler; Leoria Davenport; Brenden Lamb; Katlynn McPhee, Tyler McPhee; Kaleb Feia, Allison Feia; Noah Beers; Madeline Moen; brothers, Sylvan (Elizabeth) Schreifels and Eldred (Clara) Schreifels: sisters-in-law, Alice Schreifels and Veronica ‘Fronie' Voigt.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Henry L. Fiedler (November 14, 2004); brother, Alex Schreifels; sisters-in-law, Eileen Schreifels and Dorothy Schreifels; infant son, John and a grandson, Stephen Johnson.
