I have an Ezra Aldridge, born in North Carolina in about 1785, the 1840 Census has him listed as living in Mecklenburg, NC.
Could this be one of his children? Ezra later moved to Tennessee and living in Jackson County Tennessee in the 1850 Census.
Here is what I have on Ezra that I am sure of that connects to me. Ezra Aldridge b.abt. 1785 in N.C. married Anna/Annie/Ann (Lake?) b.abt. 1794, all of their children were born in N.C. but are listed in Jackson County, Tn. in the 1850 Census with Rebecca being the youngest, not sure if she is their child or not but she was the youngest living with them in 1850 and was also born in N.C. which means that the earliest they could have moved to Tn. would have been 1843.
Ezra and Anna's children listed with them in 1850:
Henry Aldridge b.abt.1827
Calip? Aldridge b.abt.1829
Thomas Aldridge b.abt.1832
Milus?Milis? Aldridge b.abt.1835
Jackson Aldridge b.abt.1841 (again, not sure if this is one of their children or what)
Rebecca Aldridge b.abt.1843 (ditto)
In 1855 they split Jackson County, Tn. into two counties. One being Jackson and the other being Putnam.
1860 Putnam County, Tn. Census lists:
Milus Alridge 24 living with/married to? Susan 30 b.abt.1830
Thomas Alridge married to Barbary 21 b.abt.1839 with their children? not stated as being their children in the 1900 Census it says that Barbara had only 2 children so I'm not sure if these were her children or not.
Mary F. Alridge b.abt.1858
Henry Marshall or Henry Marshall Alridge? b.abt.1853
Ann Alridge living with children, Ezra must have died between 1850 and 1860
Jackson Alridge
Rebecca Alridge
Manerva Alridge (now I really don't think that this is her child but have no clue as to who's child she is, maybe Calip's or Henry's, I haven't found them again yet...) b.abt.1855
I have more information on Thomas and Barbary/Barbara Aldridge since this is my direct line. I could give you all the way down to my children from there.
Also, another thing that made me think that Ezra belongs to this line is his son being named Calip?Caleb?, also the Mecklenburg connection. One
thing that has me puzzled...in the 1800 NY Census, it lists three Aldridge's in a row....Caleb,Ezra, and Eisha...since Ezra would have been a baby then it couldn't be the same Ezra. Do these Aldridge's tie
into your line?
