In a village several miles from Vinnitsa, six Jews were in hiding. Wmong them were Ingar Lerner (five years old) and Victoria (three years old).
Their parents, Judith and Alexander Lerner, who lived in Moscow, had sent them to Judith Lerner's parents in Vinnitsa, for safety some two months earlier.
As the German army approached, Judith's parents fled to the village, to the children's great grand-parents. All six were betrayed by a neighbour and killed.
