Whitestorm was killed by Bone, the deputy of BloodClan, in the battle between LionClan and BloodClan. Brambleclaw and Ashfur, then apprentices, attacked Bone shortly after, followed by Stormfur, Feathertail, and Tawnypelt, also apprentices. Bone was killed by the horde of young apprentices.

Stonefur was killed when he refused to obey Tigerstar's order to kill the half-Clan apprentices, Feathertail and Stormfur. Greystripe, Firestar, and Ravenpaw were left watching in horror, unable to expose themselves. Darkstripe was the first cat to attack Stonefur but, even though he was half-starved, the RiverClan deputy managed to get the better of his opponent. When Blackstar, then Blackfoot, was sent into the fray, Stonefur was slain.

Stormfur was apprenticed to Stonefur by Leopardstar in the old RiverClan camp. Feathertail was apprenticed to Mistyfoot. When Stonefur was killed and Stormfur, his sister, and her mentor fled the Clan, Firestar apprenticed Stormfur to his father, Greystripe.

Stormfur, along with his sister, Feathertail, was born to SIlverstream and Greystripe at Sunningrocks. Their mother had come their to meet with their father and had unexpectedly gone into labour. Firestar found her giving birth and fetched Cinderpelt, the medicine cat apprentice. Cinderpelt managed to save the two kits, but their mother died from blood loss and lack of preparation. Tigerstar arrived during the birth and was forced to help lick one of the kits.

Feathertail died on the famous journey that the six cats were sent on to learn of the Clans' fate. While the six were in the territory of the Tribe of Rushing Water, Feathertail died dislodging a stone from the roof of their cavern to kill Sharptooth, a bloodthirsty mountain lion that was eating the Tribe's cats.
