Frances Jeannette Holloway Veazey SOUTHLAKE -- Frances Jannette Holloway Veazey, 69, died in her home surrounded by her family on Sunday, March 10, 2002, after a year-long battle with multiple myeloma. Graveside: 10 a.m. Thursday, March 14, 2002 Dallas/ Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas. The family will receive friends and family from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2002 at Martin Thompson Funeral Home, 224 East College Street, Grapevine. The family requests that memorials be made to the International Myeloma Foundation, 12650 Riverside Drive, Ste. 206, North Hollywood, CA 91607, Tel: 818.487.7455, or other charity of their choice.

A loving daughter, wife, and mother, Mrs. Veazey was born in Spur, Texas on April 14, 1932 to William Abb and Bera Mae Holloway. She graduated from Spur High School and later attended Hardin-Simmons College in Abilene, where she met and married Perkins Veazey in 1950. Mrs. Veazey later obtained both her bachelor's and master's degrees in elementary education from Texas Tech University. Mrs. Veazey taught elementary school for more than 20 years at schools in Lubbock, San Antonio and Irving before retiring.

The family wished to thank Dr. Randall Davis and the staff at Texas Oncology P.A. and the staff at Odyssey Hospice of Fort Worth for their compassionate care of Mrs. Veazey during her illness.

Mrs. Veazey was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Doyle Holloway, Calvin B. Holloway, Harvey Bryant Holloway and Glenn Dwayne Holloway.

Survivors include husband of 51 years, Perkins Veazey; sons, Randolph Bryant and wife, Debra of Waco, Rhad Brady Veazey and wife, Kathryn of Paradise; daughter, D. LaRue Corbin and husband, Arnold of Southlake; grandchildren, John Bryant Veazey and wife, Natalia of London, England, Brandi Jo Gitcho and husband, Greg of Dallas, Anna Jannette Veazey of Sherman, Frances Belle Veazey of Paradise, and Alexander Preston Corbin of Southlake; great-grandchild, Roark Alexander Veazey of London, England; sisters and brothers, Mozelle Thomas of Abilene, Lois Lusko of Abilene, Jean Jones of Littleton, Colorado, Jane Colburn of Quitman, Max Holloway of Alvord; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
