About Francis Marion Hammonds, (CSA)
Francis was the son of Peter Hammond and Milly Robertson. Francis enlisted in the Confederate States Army, 4th Alabama Infantry, Company A, and served with the unit in many battles with the Army of Northern Virginia. He died of wounds 15 October 1864 along the Williamsburg Road in Virginia.
