Francis Potman was probably born before 1755 and married Annatje Dens (Dence) 2 May 1776 at the Dutch Reformed Church of Caughnawaga.
September 16, 1778, Francis and Annatje Putman were sponsors at the Dutch Reformed Church of Caughnawaga for Victor the son of Francis' brother Jacob J. Putman.
"The Putnam Leaflets" may indicate a Francis Putman went to Canada. Francis, the son of Johannes V. Potman, may have gone to Canada, but likely he returned. According Compendium of the Mohawk Valley, Francis [I.?] Putman, then a resident of Tribes Hill, left a will dated April 17, 1804, in Montgomery Co. Legatee was his wife Anna, and Executors were Richard Duman, Jacob Weejar, and Alexander Rose. (p. 640) Francis may have died without leaving descendants.
