"On 11th September, 1902, Year of Our Lord, after carrying out the relevant proceedings concerning a freely agreed upon union (just as is is recorded in entry n° 45) between FRANCISCO MUFFAT, native of France, aged 32 years, bachelor, residing in San Francisco, lawful son of the late Marin Muffat, native of France, and of Verónica Foe, (?) native of France and MARGARITA CASEY, native of this country, single, aged 27 years, lawful daughter of Patricio Casey, native of Ireland and of Elena Clarey, native of Ireland; and on there not being any prebendary impeachment whatsoever, on having granted the relevant marriage banns, on their being qualified in the catholic doctrine as well as having received the Sacraments and on acknowledging they have agreed independently and spontaneously to get married, the undersigned vicar curate joined them by word of mouth after the formal rites, 'in facie Ecclesiae'; being witnesses Tomás Casey, native of this country, aged (?) years, residing in San Francisco and Julia Casey, native of this country, aged 25 years and residing in San Francisco as well; and by a sign of truth the foregoing certificate was signed by the said parish curate, Miguel Castilla."
