Franklin L. Crane, son of Solomon Crane and Elizabeth Mills, was born in Washington, New Hampshire on Apr. 16, 1837; m. LYDIA BUSWELL of WIlmot, New Hampshire on Mar. 29, 1860; res. in Washington. He was a farmer. She died Feb. 6, 1905. He died Mar. 10, 1922 at Washington Center and both are buried at East Washington Cemetery, East Washington, Sullivan Co., New Hampshire.

  • 1880 census: Franklin L. Crane (42) and wife Syclia (Lydia; 42) in Washington, New Hampshire w Charles H. Grandy (7) and Frank W. Grandy (2). The family would eventually adopt, as their own, young Frank Grandy. He would thenceforth be known as Frank Willis Crane.
