Florentina Mozes married Frans Michiel Kilian from Stettin in 1768 and bore him ten children. Both names suggest Jewish origin ; Gabriel Kilian who arrived from Germany early in the next century was a professing Jew.

"Franz Michael Kilian, van Stettin in Duitsland, het in 1763 as soldaat met die skip Westerveld in Suid-Afrika aangekom. Voordat hy in 1768 burgerskap ontvang het, was hy vir vyf jaar as grofsmid werksaam. Sy huwelik met Florentina Moses is met tien kinders geseen. Ses van die kinders is waarskynlik ongetroud oorlede: (1) Philip Jacob (1769), (2) Frans Michiel (1773), (3) Johanna Carolina Margaretha (1775), (4) Johanna Magdalena (1777), (5) Wilhelmina Florentina (1779) en (6) Maria Hendrina (1783). Die ander was:

"(7) Johan Godlieb (1769), getroud 2.11.1788 met Judith Geijser; 7 kinders.

"Toe Frans Michiel Kilian op 16 Maart 1816 oorlede is, het hy 1,000 Kaapse guldens aan heide die Lutherse en die Nederduits Gereformeerde Kerk nagelaat."
