Friedrich Simon PLAGMANN was from Goldberg in Mecklenburg. He came to the Cape as a soldier in 1741. He married on 3 October 1751 Apollonia JANSZ van de Kaap, she was the daughter of Rebekka van Bengal. He married the second time on 14 March 1756 Helena JANSZ van de Kaap, she was a freed slave and daughter of Jannetje JOHANNISE.

There were two duaghters from the first marriage.
