About Gabriel Näsman, Rev.
Gilbert Nasman arrived from Sweden on 23 Oct
1743, to serve as the pastor of the congregation at Gloria Dei Church at Wicacoa. Rev. Nasman became embroiled in several disputes with one trustee of the church, Peter Kock. Defending his marriage from yet another barrage from Kock, Nasman states, "The Rambo family is the greatest of them here, and of the most honest, and my wife counted among the most virtuous." . . . Rev. Nasman returned alone to Sweden in 1751, after a journey to the West Indies and Europe. In Sweden he received the title of "Professor" and was appointed pastor of the parish in Kristianstad, Skane, in the southern tip of Sweden. He married Boel Katrina Stuberius, and eventually died there on 21 Feb 1777.
