Gaspard III de Coligny, Maréchal de Châtillon, of the House of Coligny ( 26 July 1584, Montpellier-4 January 1646, Châtillon), comte de Coligny and seigneur de Châtillon-sur-Loing, then duc de Coligny, marquis d'Andelot, Peer of France, Marshal of France (1622), was a French Protestant general.

He was the son of François de Coligny (1557–1591) and his wife Marguerite d'Ailly, and the grandson of admiral Gaspard de Coligny.

During the Thirty Years' War, he won the Battle of Les Avins against a Spanish army under Thomas Francis, Prince of Carignan. On 6 July 1641, Gaspard de Coligny commanded the army of Louis XIII at the Battle of La Marfée, where he was defeated.

Marriage and issue

On 13 August 1615 he married Anne de Polignac (1598–1651), and they had 4 children :

Maurice (16 October 1618 at Châtillon-sur-Loing-23 May 1644 at Vincennes), Comte de Coligny, died in a duel with the duc de Guise)

Gaspard IV de Coligny (9 June 1620 at Châtillon-sur-Loing-9 February 1649 Château de Vincennes), duc de Châtillon then duc de Coligny 1648, marshal of France (1649). In 1645 married Élisabeth Angélique de Montmorency-Bouteville (1627–1695)

Henriette de Coligny (1618–1673), in 1643 married Thomas Hamilton, Earl of Haddington , then in 1653 married Gaspard de Champagne, comte de la Suze (marriage annulled).

Anne, (4 September 1624 at Châtillon-sur-Loing-13 January 1680 at Riquewir), in 1648 married George II, duke of Wurtemberg-Montbéliard (1626–1699)
