Gat Masungit was a 15th century scion to the Sultanate of Brunei. Instead of ascending to the throne, he opted to travel and sailed for the islands that will eventually be called Philippines. Gat Masungit first landed in Panay where he founded the town of Batan. He eventually cross to Luzon and settled in Batang-an, now called Batangas. More here: http://bit.ly/jItWae.
