General Bartlett Memorial Forest

   Nottingham, NH
   Acreage: 65 acres
   The General Thomas E. Bartlett Memorial Forest was given to New England Forest Foundation in 1961 by Mr. Brainerd Mears, a descendant of the Revolutionary War hero, General Thomas Bartlett. Bartlett was born in Massachusetts in 1745, raised in New Hampshire, and was a foot soldier who rose to the rank of general in the Revolution. Still visible on the Bartlett Memorial Forest are the abandoned rifle pits where New Hampshire soldiers practiced their marksmanship for the Civil War.
