The Danish passport of Georg list him born in 1809 while the gravestone in Heidelberg gives 1814 as his birth year.

Georg Woldemar Cantor came to St. Petersburg as a child with his mother and was baptised there in a Lutheran ceremony. He was born in Copenhagen, sometime 1810-1815 from parents of "israelitischen Eltern", i.e. lilkely at least one of the parents belonged to a Jewish family.
