CORNISH, Utah -- George William Elwood, 74, died Thursday morning at the Logan LDS Hospital following a cerebral hemorrhage. His wife, Vivian Elizabeth Seamons Elwood, had died on Monday.

Joint funeral services for the couple will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Nelson Memorial Funeral Chapel in Logan. Friends may call Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. and Saturday after 11 a.m. Burial will be in the Hyde Park Cemetery.

Mr. Elwood was born April 18, 1892, in Hyde Park, the son of Herbert Sampson and Laura Seamons Elwood. He was a barber and a painter and farmed in the Cornish area.

He was married Oct. 5, 1914, in Salt Lake City to Vivian Elizabeth Seamons who died Monday. Their marriage was alter solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple.

Mr. Elwood was just released as Sunday School superintendent in the Cornish Ward. He had also been in the Elder's Quorum presidency and at the time of his death was the High Priest Quorum secretary.

Survivors include a son, George William (Bill) Elwood of Cornish; Mrs. Dresden (Phyllis) Blanchard, American Falls; Mrs. John (Emma) Jardine, Clarkston, Utah; Mrs. Russell (Barbara) Peterson, Lewiston, Utah; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Also surviving are five brothers and three sisters.
