Married Susanne Elisabeth STOCKY (STOKY/STOKEY) in Allenjoie, Doubs on 17 April 1823.
While living in Doubs, Elizabeth and Jean had two sons; Perre Frederic (later Peter Frederick) and Georges Henry (or Hanry; later George).
The four Ferciot's arrived in New York City from Le Havre, France on the ship Pallas on 14 June 1828. Also traveling with them was the Stoky family, which included Syon (Susan), Elizabeth, Perre (Peter), Henry, Fred (Frederick), Charles, and Louisa.
Upon arriving in America he dropped his first name, Jean, and the "s" from his middle name, going by George from then on.
The family lived in New York, New Jersey, Washington D.C., and then made their way to Wood County, settling in Lovett's Grove.
At each of their first three stops a daughter was born; Catherine in New York, Louisa in New Jersey, and Mary C. in the District of Columbia.
George was a farmer in Plain Township and lived out the remained of his life there.
