About George Tayloe Langhorne
Colonel George T. Langhorne was a veteran of the American-Spanish War in the Philippines and onetime aide-de-camp to Major General Leonard Wood. He was King of the Occident at the 1908 Manila Carnival and escort to Marjorie Radcliffe Colton. After his Philippine stint, Langhorne went back to the United States and participated in several campaigns in Texas against the Mexican revolutionist, Francisco “Pancho” Villa in 1916. In 1917, he became commander of Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas.
