In 1642, George's uncle, Sir Francis Wyatt, at that time Governor of Virginia for the second time, brought George Wyatt and his brothers and sisters back to Virginia. Edward and his brother, George Wyatt had land grants to plantations where the town of Williamburg, Virginia now stands. The National Geographic Magazine in an issue about Williamsburg, VA. mentions the fact that when the capital of the Virginia Colony was to be placed at Williamsburg, that the House of Burgess and the Crown bought the land from Edward and George Wyatt.
