Practiced as an Advocate in Bombay from 1935-52 when he was appointed Presidency Magistrate. After retirement, he was for many years President of the KCA, his tenure seeing the construction of the KCA Hall and Hostel in Bandra. He also founded the Mangalore Garden Homes Society and was closely associated with the Mangalorean Educational Society. He started a housing colony at Mahabaleshwar where he turned 13 acres of jungle into homes.
