About Gittel (Judit) Bineta (Löw)

Born in Ronsburg / Pobezovice. [Note: Researcher David Deutsch changed the birth year for Gittel from 1814 to circa 1804 for two reasons:

1.) Gittel had a daughter, Leni/Leah, married to Jozsef Seelfreund. There are JewishGen.org records (attached to the profile of daughter Leni/Leah) relating to this marriage which indicate Leni/Leah was born 1824. Thus, Leni/Leah's mother, Gittel could not have been born 1814, as she would have been 10 years old when her daughter was born.

2.) Gittel's mother's (Rivka Ester's) year of birth is given as c. 1770. If Gittel was, in fact, born 1814, her mother would have been 44 at the time. Although this is not impossible, it is much more likely (especially given the records for Gittel's daughter), that Gittel was born 10 years earlier, when her mother was only about 34 years old.

Additionally, one should consider the age of Gittel's father (Elazar Pilz) as well. His birth year is known to be 1758. If Gittel was, in fact, born in 1814, her father would have been 56. This, too, is not impossible, but again, in view of Gittel's daughter's records suggesting that Gittel was likely born around 1804 or earlier, it seems more plausible that Gittel's father would have been 45 at the time of his daughter's birth
