About Giuseppe Quattrochi

Lawyer, and president of Siilian Assembly (like a member of parliament) Has a prominent statue in front of the graveyard.

In 1908, Mount Etna erupted, largest eruption in Mount Etna's history, completely destroying Messina and another city, 2-300,000 people died. Guiseppe survived this because their house was one of the only few earthquake proof building.

Because most of the Sicilian assembly died in this eruption, he had to take control of the civil situation in the city when the army arrived. He was in charge of the rebuilding of the city and they built statues to commemorate his efforts.
