Mrs. Gladie May Farrow Snyder, 93, a resident of Hermitage, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2009, at Loyalton of Staunton. She was born in Augusta County on May 8, 1916, and was the daughter of the late Wesley David and Mary Catherine Cline Farrow. Gladie lived her entire life in Augusta County, attended Augusta County Schools and was a member of the Waynesboro Church of the Brethren. She was a LPN at Kings Daughters Hospital until retiring in 1972. On May 9, 1937 she married Donald B. Snyder, who preceded her in death on June 23, 2006. She is survived by a daughter, Jewell S. Phelps and husband, Dwight of Swoope, two sons, Gareth K. Snyder and wife, Gloria of Huber Heights, Ohio, Dale K. Snyder and wife, Patricia of Phoenix, Ariz., five grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, five step-great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna S. Blake in 2003. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m., Monday, Dec. 28, at Barren Ridge Church of the Brethren Cemetery with Pastor Edward Carl officiating. A memorial service will be held immediately after the graveside at Barren Ridge Church of the Brethren.
