Born in Calgary, 1953. Won the city baby contest. My mother was pleased with that. Went to Terrace Road Elementary School Grades 1-6. Baptized on my birthday, 31
March, 1961, baptized into the Mormon Church.
Attended Queen Elizabeth Jr/Sr high school grades 7 - 12. Played school basketball, volleyball, badminton, soccer, and football. Lettered in Football. Admitted to MPH program (matriculation program-honors) for high achievers. Elected as chairman of Calgary Interschool Council, representing the students of all High Schools in Calgary to the Calgary School Board.
Played in local rock band. Had a lot of fun and some success.
1971 - graduated Grade 12, and enrolled at University of Calgary Arts and Science. Flunked out because I wasn't prepared for all of the work.
1972-74- Served a two year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon) in the Detroit area. Loved it.
1974- appendix ruptured and I contracted peritonitis in Michigan. Was not expected to live. Expedited home to Calgary for Surgery. Had 4 surgeries, and recovered.
After recovery, enrolled and attended Southern Alberta Institute of Technology in Calgary. Took program in telecommunications technology. Loved it. Had no trouble like I had at U of C, because I had learned to work on my mission.
Worked 5 years for Alberta Government Telephones. Married my high school sweetheart (Diane Massey-Hicks) and we had baby Emily and baby Steven. We moved to Crossfield, Alberta (30 miles north of Calgary). Baby Tommy and baby David were Born.
Left the phone company to work for Intergraph Canada Ltd., as small Canadian start up computer company. Was in the right place at the right time as business boomed, and employee count rose to 400. When I retired, (1995), I was the general manager for Canada. I traveled a great deal, all over the world. Fortunately, my family was often able to travel with me.
We moved to the community of Silver Springs in Calgary, and baby Annie was born.
Diane and I were divorced. She remarried Richard Williams, and I remarried Karlene Wolford.
Karlene and I have a son named Noah Glen LeBaron who was born in 1998.
Since being retired, I have pursued my interests, including my family, computers, internet,etc.
We are still living in Calgary.
