Cairo Record p. 3 17 Oct 1919 Gottlieb Burry Passes Away Gottlieb Bury, a former highly respected resident of this vicinity died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Wm. Clugy, at Elbert, Colorado, one day last week, the body arriving her Thursday evening. funeral services were conducted by Rev. Strong at the Baptist church on Friday afternoon, October 10, 1919; after which the remains were laid to rest in the Cairo cemetery beside those of his wife, who died about twelve years ago. Deceased was born in Switzerland in 1841, and was seventy-eight years of age at the time of death. He came to America in 1879, and for many years made his home in Hall county, and numbered among his friends all of the old settlers of the community. He leaves to mourn his loss several sons and daughters, two of whom, Frank and Joseph Burry, still reside near Cairo; also thirty-seven grand-children and three great grand children survive hi. They sympathy of the people of the entire community is extended to the surviving relatives in their great sorrow.
