Guffie married Dollie J Hayes on Nov 17, 1915 in Lawrence Co., KY. Their children were Cullie, Grace and Alvia Walters. Guffie married Masil Garnet Halsey on May 6, 1943.

Guffie was the son of Lafayette Walters and Nancy Hetta Daniel.

Note: Guffie had the unusual distinction of serving in two major wars. He served in W WI and WWII. Serving in WWII resulted in failed health. According to him, he was required to carry large, heavy packs on his back on long marches. A combination of his weight which was about 250 pounds and his age, he returned home from WWII disabled. He became a welder with Semet Solvay Corporation, in Ashland, KY.
