He married Isabeau du Rouvré, daughter of Helie de Rouvré, Knight and Lord of d’Avellones. When Guy de Lusignan became king of Cyprus, he made Lawrence Lord of the estate Loriaque in the kingdom of Cyprus. Lawrence was knighted by Guy de Lusignan and in honour thereof changed his surname to: du Plessis du Mors.
