There is confusion in the records. Apparently two Gunvalds, one who died young followed by a brother of the same name who emigrated with the family and died in the US.

Vernon G: Gunvald Gunvalson. born on Strandivereie 9/16/1852, confirmed 9/27/1868. Went to the USA with his father. Disappeared periodically from his father's home near New Prairie, Minnesota. Unmarried (?), supposed to have been a logger in Oregon.
