State of Iowa vs. Guy Quick

Bessie Lisco:

I live at 705 West 6th Street, Davenport, Scott County, Iowa. I live at home. On or about March 14, 1928 I went riding with Defendant and had intercourse with him. Since that time I have had a baby.

Guy Quick:

My name is Guy Quick. I am 24 years of age and live at 1130 26th Street, Moline, Illinois. I am a married man and have two children. I met Bessie Lisco about a year and a half ago and took her out several times. I was married then. I went with her quite awhile before I had intercourse with her. My birthday is March 30 and I had sexual intercourse with Bessie Lisco in March of this year shortly before my birthday. I don't remember the exact date. This took place in my car, a Ford touring car, parked on the roadside in Scott County, Iowa. Bessie Lisco told me at the time that she was 16 years of age. I asked her how old she was because I didn't want to have sexual intercourse with any girl under 16 years of age. I asked Bessie Lisco to have this intercourse with me and she said no at first but after I kissed her a while she said that I could after I had urged her to. I had sexual intercourse with Bessie Lisco before this several times.
