About GM

I've changed the name tag on my profile for one reason: Hopefully I will be able to do my Geni-work more anonymously, rather than attracting undue attention. In fact, I seriously considered putting only a numeral, and I may still do just that. The way it's been, having my name showing prominently on so many profiles seems to create 'pause' for some - including me. Having my name showing in lights in not my intention.

My intentions are to do my work (and life walk) simply, with integrity, honesty, forgiveness, acceptance and joy. Sometimes I make it, and sometimes I my efforts fall short.. I don' seek fanfare nor favoritism in my work, including on the Geni site. I've had enough of both to last a lifetime from other areas of my life. No, I just want to do my best to participate in creating ever deepening connections that benefit us all. - For in truth, we all are just part of the same, large family, are we not? I'm sure that in my passionate efforts I've stepped on toes, even offended. If you are one of those, please accept my sincere apology. Sometimes I get cranky, I know that. No harm intended.

I believe that with accurate facts, we can each better find ourselves and where we connect in the larger world. Creating false impressions and fancifical families does nothing but harm to our spirits, even as it may boost our egos.

Despite my best intentions and efforts, I make mistakes here on the site (easy to do at 3am when words and numbers get blurry, but you still need to stay up and tend your poor sick doggy,.... etc.) I welcome feedback you may send me on goofs I may have made. I appreciate the opportunity to make things right that I may have had a hand in making 'wrong'. I also welcome requests for help. I'll always do what I can, and tell you when it's 'out of my league'.

By way of explanation for those who may have noticed my often erratic patterns of Geni-working, I do my Geni work in patches, between major surgeries. I expect this will be the rule of thumb for quite awhile - until I'm 'done' with all that. Sometimes I'm 'On' (hot and heavy with many hours, even days/weeks all in a row), and then sometimes I'm 'Off' . During the 'Off' times, I probably won't even answer messages for weeks at a time. During the Fall of 2011 I'll probably disappear altogether for awhile. (Do I hear a sigh of relief from some?) Please understand. or at least forgive. for good or bad, I'll be back.

I realize we each have some pretty crazy things going on in our lives. I just appreciate the fact that we are connected, even when we don't have the validated blood line to show for it yet.

Gwyneth McNeil --------------------------------------

For those who are interested, here's a bit about me:

Birth Name: Gwenna Potter Legal name change April 15, 1993 (as a result of a spiritual experience):

Gwyneth Potter McNeil

A favorite quote (and how I experience my life...):

"There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle." --Albert Einstein

I have been interested in genealogy since I was young, - and making connections with my 'family'.

I remember meeting my great-grandmother, Elvina Roberts Rust, when I was 4 years old. She came to visit, and I remember feeling a bit nervous about this very old woman I'd never seen before. She put me right at ease when she un-wound the long braid from around her head and showed me how when it was all unwound, it touched the floor. We talked for awhile and my great-grandmother became my friend.

Other Personal Interests: Spirituality, Awakening, Life Learning, Hypnosis, Hypnosis Training, NLP, Reiki, Reiki Training, Breathwork, Life Coaching, Genealogy, Gardening, Outdoors, Nature, Peace, Harmony, Creating Beauty, Honesty & Fulfillment in relationship, Marketing, Internet Marketing, Personal Development, Dogs, Nutrition, Gourmet Cooking, Herbs, Medicinal Herbs, Outdoor Cooking, Camping, canoeing, sailing, Hiking, Back-packing, poetry, (both reading & writing), target-shooting, music that lifts my soul, a good movie, rich conversation, a good laugh.

Besides my traditional education (BA in psychology, Certificate in addiction counseling), I treasure the mentoring I've had from Zhen Ying Chang, James Mooney, Gurucharan Kalsa, and many others whom I consider Masters in their arts.
