About Hannah Hotchkiss

Hannah was the oldest known child of John "the Farmer" Thompson (d 1655) and his first wife, Eleanor (who has been erroneously identified as both Ellen Harrison & Dorothy (unknown) Thompson Harrison). Her birth date and place are not certain, she could have been born earlier or later, in England or after her father's arrival in the New Haven Colony (1639 according to Savage). In the will of her father, John Thompson, she was mentioned after her two brothers, John and Joseph.

Hannah Thompson married Matthew Moulthrop, Jr., on June 26, 1662.

Conflicting dates are given for Hannah's death. Both NEGHR and Torrey (first marriage) give her death as 1681. But Jacobus, citing the records of East Haven, CT, says she died in 1712/1713. Obviously she could not have married (2) Samuel Hotchkiss if she died in 1681.
