The approximate location of the original living quarters on Nazaret (nowadays roughly similar to Glenelly Estate http://www.glenellyestate.com/home.html) can be seen at the arrow on Google Maps: https://maps.google.com/maps?q=-33.917122,18.876733&ll=-33.9175...

Extracts from "A Venter Family History" by Darrell Hall:
- On 22 Feb 1690 the farm Nazaret in the Stellenbosch district was transferred to "Hendrik Venter van Hamel" from Hendrik Cornelisz at a cost of 1400 guilders ("Caabs geld"). To the east was land belonging to Francois Villion and Jacob Cloete; to the north uninhabited mountains; to the west land belonging to Arie Gerritsz; and immediately to the south undeveloped land. The farm was 55 morgen 521 roods in size.
- The opgaafrolle for 1692 show that he had 500 sheep and 2500 vines. He also produced corn and rye on the farm.
- ... there were 4000 (vines) in 1700, although sown crops and sheep were down.
- While retaining Nazaret, in 1704, Hendrik took occupation of the farm Vlysbank near to-day's Hermon on the Berg River. He kept Nazaret until 1710 when he sold it to his brother-in-law, "Johannis Villioen", son of Francois Villon (or Viljoen), and his next door neighbour on Ida's Valley.
