About Henry George Hanawalt

In th Name of God Amen.

I Henry Hanniwalt of Mifflin County Wayne Township being very sick & weak in body but of perfect mind & memory thanks be to God Calling unto mind the Mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to Die, & after that the Judgement do make this my last will and Testament, that is to say, first of all I recommend my Soul into the hands of God who Gave it & my body I recommend to the earth to be Buried in a decent Christian manner at the Direction (?) of my Executors hoping that at the Resurrection I shall receive the same

   And as ?touching of such worldly Estate as God in his Providence has Given me in this life I give in the following manner & form.
   First I bequeath unto my Dearly Beloved Wife Catharine two of my best cows,two ___two years old, four sheep with fodder for her Go?? yearly & if she choses to live on the spring house ????, if not to live in ???of the mansion house, with one half acre offlax sown, twenty five Bushel of wheat, six bushels of Indian corn, & part of the Garden one hundred & fifty pounds of meat & one bushel of salt yearly; if I ____by her, one bed &Beding pewter, ___ & I augers one Chair & two Chests one pot & one ____of her own Chopping & what apples appears necessary for her.
   Seconly I give to my well Beloved Sone George the one half of the Plantation that I now live on together with the one half of a late Survey made on the west end of the old track to him & his heirs & assigns one Roan Horse one Bay Mare a Sorrel Horse & Black-Mare with plough & gears for two horses two cows and five sheep with half the Orchard, half of the ____ of milk, & half the Barn.
    Thirdly I give to my well Beloved Son Henry & his heirs & assigns all that track of land that belongs to me in HuntingdonCounty, Hopewell township with two heifers and fifty pounds in Cash to be paid in two yearly payments afer my Decease by my Executors.
    Fourthly I give to my well Beloved Son Christian Fifty pounds & ? pence with two steers tow years old to be paid in three yearly payments after my Decease by my Executors.
    Fifthly I leave to my beloved Son in law John Allen one Cow and calf to be given to him the spring after my Decease, and to what Children my Doughter Margret has now to him I leave in the following manner (to wit) to Jean Allen twenty pounds & a woman saddle, when of age to Mary five pounds to Wm five pounds to Sarah five Pounds to James five pounds to Margret five Pounds and to Catharine five Pounds to be paid to them by my Executors as the[y] come of age.
    Sixthly I leave to my beloved son John the other half of my Plantation that I now live on together with the other half of the late Survey to him & his heirs & assigns with one plough and?acklin and Horse Gears for one plough with the other half of the Orchard wind mill & Barn, one Bay Colt one Lorrel filly two Coros? and five sheep, my Body Cloths I leave to be Equally divided between my sons Henry & Christian my out Standing Debts andwheat in the barn& --- with the Remainder of other property after giving every Legatee their Dividend I allow to be for the use of Raising money to pay the several sums Bequeathed.  And I like wive? Confederate, make and Ordain my Sole Executors my Sons George and John of this my last Will and Testament all and singular my LandsM???ages and Tenements and I do herebyUtterly Disavaow, Revoke, and Disannul all abd every other formerTestament will Legacys, bequests and bequeathments by me in anywise before named, will'd, and bequeathed and confirmng this

This and no other to be my last will and Testament in Witnes whereof I have here into set my hand and Seal this 26th of February one thousand seven hundred and Ninty four.

A copy of the Probate Registrar publication of Henry's Will was copied, signed by the Sam Edmiston, Messers: Cuthberton, and Hunter dated 25 March 1794.

Georgia Ann E Reich provided me a copy of The executors swearing that George Hannawalt and John Hannawalt "will well and Truly administer the Goods and Chattles Rights & Credits which were of Henry Hannwalt Deceased that you will make a true and perfect Inventory therof and Exhibit the Same into the Registers office in Lewes Town in three months from this time & that you will under a just a true account Calculation and Reconing of your Administration One Year from this time or when thereunto Lawfully Required
