The Bristol Merchant Passenger List From England to Pennsylvania The Bristol Merchant 12th month, 1682/3, William Smith, master

John Barnes William Beakes and son Abraham Francis Chadds Robert Dunne or Donne Henry Margerum and wife Elizabeth John Moon , settled in Bristol township Walter King Joan May, widow

(from Henry Marjorum (present form Margerum) and wife Elizabeth, county Wilt, England, arrived in the Delaware, 1 mo. 2, 1682, and settled on a 350-acre tract two miles below Yardley. He then bought 281, acres in Falls. They had two children, Sarah born 7, 17, 1685, and Henry born 12, 7, 1683.

On the death of his wife, 8, 2, 1693, he married Jane Riggs, a widow, the first marriage in Burlington outside the meeting; we do not know when he died [May 3, 1727], but his will was recorded 1727. The name of Henry Marjorum appears as the owner of cattle, 1684, and the ear mark given [I've saved this ear mark illustration in the "Media" section of this profile].

From pages 809-810: Henry Marjorum early acquired land in his adopted country, the first being a tract of three hundred and fifty acres lying in Makefield township beginning at the Delaware river and running back in a southwesterly and westerly direction. The adjoining lands being owned by John Snowden and Peter Worrall on the south and Richard Hough on the west, and William and Andrew Elliott on the north. This piece of land was ordered to be resurveyed on the 25th 8th mo. 1701, and was returned as having been resurveyed by John Cutler on the 14th day of 2nd month, 1702, and is undoubtedly where Henry built his first home in his adopted country.

From this text also comes record of William Penn granting a request for this resurveying, signed and sealed "at Philada the 25th of ye 8, 1701."
